He heaved himself over one last tree branch in order to find himself in a small clearing that lead to the drop off of the huge cliff. Serj ran his left hand through his hair, looking side to side as he did so. If there was someone around, he would have found them on his way there. Serj was confident that he was alone, he just had that sense. Besides, at this point, being alone was not a good thing. He had lost Serj-na, and Serj didn't trust him alone for this long. Both men were so different in personality it was almost scary. Serj didn't mind the fact that he was a little more sensitive to his 'younger' brother, he just minded when Serj-na brought it up.
Serj took afew steps toward the edge of the cliff, and then turned on his heel and began pacing. His feet made almost no noise in the grass as he walked, and the earth was soft under his feet. After a moment, Serj walked to the edge of the cliff, peering out to the ocean. What was out there? Serj knew that there was more outside of this island. If there wasn't, where did the big dock on the beach come from? Men built it on the island, and then started dropping off children. Serj wondered whether they were exiles, or maybe criminals. He did know that they were causing trouble on the island, and he wouldn't tolerate it for much longer. It didn't matter what Lainie said at this point, if one of those kids tried to move in on his tribe, they would have to kiss their lives goodbye.
Of course, Serj would never voice his opinions about the island, his home. Yes, he was a fearless man, but he would not die for the cause his father died for. Someday he would leave this place and see what was past the water..But not without his brother.
Speaking of which, Serj turned around toward the woods behind him, drawing a knife he had made just incase a pesky brat came stumbling out of the woods. There would be noone threatening him, ever. They would beg for mercy if they had the nerve to stand up to him.Sure, Serj was the 'nice guy', but he still frowned upon any disrespect. Afterall, they weren't animals.
"Brother?" Serj's deep voice called out. If Serj-na was near, he would have heard it.

Serj-na heard his older brother's voice. He came out of hiding, not knowing what was walking near him until hearing the voice of his twin.
"Put the knife away brother, no need for that yet." The entire tribe was in an uproar over the tresspassers. They were being sent here from...somewhere. He refused to wonder where. It was wondering that got their father killed. It was wondering that led them to their current situation. Serj-na had just returned from a hunt. Almost killing a female, and locking eyes with the male.
Something about that male made him seem like a threat. Maybe it was the way he didn't break the stare, or his reflexes when he let fly the arrow at him. But one thing was for certain, he needed to be killed. He looked up at the sun, it was around midday. He was getting hungry. Looking up, he saw some mangos in a tree. lling himself up there, he picked one off before looking down at his brother
"Hungry?"

Serj's eyes found the ground as he put his knife away. The weapon was one of his more prized possessions. He made it him self a number of years ago. The handle was carved by his own hands, and the aged wood was riddled with swirling designs of flowers and vines. It was almost as if Serj's left hand was imprinted there, as this was his dominant hand. He preferred the knife over arrows and axes unless he was hunting game that was too dangerous to tackle. The worst thing to do around here was get hurt. He had seen a man die of a broken ankle. It made Serj wonder if there was any possibility that they could advance medically, so that his people wouldn't die. Something they could use the new comers for.. They probably knew something that the Oryx Clan didn't.
Serj watched his younger brother retrieve fruit from a tree. It was almost pitiful. Serj-na tried not to resort to fruit. The man was almost a carnivore. He and Serj were exactly alike. The only reason Serj was considered "older" was because he was born mere minutes before his brother..Atleast he was told. It was said that their mother was a kind and loving soul. It would have been nice for her to be around all their lives. It wasn't often a women survived childbirth, let alone twin boys.
"I'll pass, thanks." Serj said when he was offered a Mango. His eyes were on the water, the horizon. They spoke the same language as the strangers, well at least some of them did. Lainie spoke the strange tongue too besides their native tongue of the island. Most of the elders in the Clan refused to speak the new language. Serj had no idea how it let on, but he remembered picking it up when he was a child, maybe 9 or 10.
"Have you seen any of the strangers?" he asked suddenly, his eyes still on the water. Chuckling to himself he said "They are so pale.." He laughed. It was true! Serj had seen afew of them. They haven't seen him, atleast he hoped not.

"Yeah, as pale as our so-called leader used to be. We oughta kill her with the rest of them..." He said non-chalantly. Lainie wasn't making any right decisions regarding their situation lately. Killing them was fine, but if the tribe went to them, there was a slim chance that they could attack. By drawing them into their own territory, they had the advantage.
"Besides, we have an advantage now...moreso than we had before..." He got a smirk on his face, cause he knew there was no way Serj would know about the kid yet, Lainie still had her. He hung upside down and started juggling mangos. "Have you seen pregnant tresspasser? Well, she isn't pregnant anymore..." The smirk on his face evolved into a devilish grin.
