Casey couldn't quite shake the feeling of uneasiness that came with being on the beach. After all, this was where her life had taken yet another turn into downward spirals. This was where she'd been attacked, where they'd taken Aiden. Actually, where he'd taken Aiden. There had only been one of them. They'd only needed one- even if she hadn't been in labour, one probably would have been enough to do away with her. She sighed frustratedly, unconsciously swinging her fist at a nearby palm tree. The rough bark scraped layers of skin off her knuckles, drawing beads of blood that stung like hell. The sting grounded her, brought her back to reality. Though that didn't last long at all.
There were other feelings she couldn't shake. There was the feeling of strange detachment towards Montana and his completely revamped personality. He was different, she didn't handle change well, especially when it came to other people. And then there was fear, brought on by the native prisoner and her acclaimed lack of knowledge of the baby. The best way to keep a secret was to get rid of it. Glancing at her knuckles, she made a fist and released it, watching the trickle of blood with curiosity, as though she didn't even remember doing it to herself. Backing away from the tree, she skittered towards the dock, planting herself on the edge and swinging her feet over the edge.
She'd been thinking about her brother lately, more than she had in awhile. She had a feeling it was brought on by that feeling of being a burden. That was what had driven her to abandon everything and run. But there wasn't anywhere to run anymore, they were on an island. She couldn't help it that Montana usually had to save her ass, that he was her only hope of getting Aiden back. But it tormented her all the same. With both arms wrapped protectively over her abdomen, she glanced down into the blue water. Her reflection was warped and shattered by waves lapping lazily against the posts holding the dock up. Hearing footsteps on the dock, she tore her gaze away from her reflection, tensing visibly and turning to face her company.

Montana had left Niabi in Damien's care. He had some explaining to do, to Casey. He had to tell her why he did what he did. She deserved to know. He scoured the entire island for her, and when he got back to where he started, he found her. Dangling off the dock. He was hesitant to approach her, she no doubt was pissed off at him for falling off the face of the earth. He fully expected a smack in the face.
He silently walked up and sat down beside her with a thud...
"Alright, lemme have it..."

The tension in her body disappeared as her gaze fell on Montana. He was safe to be on the dock with her. If it had been a native fucker or something, she'd have lost it. Again. She'd been doing that lately. Her lower lip found its way between her teeth though, a nervous habit of hers, something she couldn't quite kick. It was much like her methods of dealing with her frustration. She'd been trying to kick the habit of hurting herself to make things feel real again for years, it wasn't working so well. Remaining quiet, she watched him as he sat down beside her, shaking the dock slightly.
She tilted her head ever so slightly as he spoke. "Have what?" she questioned, her first thoughts being that he knew things. That he knew about her and Damien, that he knew she was carrying. That was a scary thought. She really should have told him all of this ages ago, though he couldn't be too angry at her for not telling him things. He hadn't been around much, not at all really in the past month or so. Maybe he didn't know. Maybe it was just her overly paranoid mind at work again.
"The scruffy island look suits you, but doesn't your face just fucking itch?" she asked him curiously.

Montana smiled as he leaned over and nudged her a bit. "Have the smack in the head I deserve for disappearing like I did." Montana looked out as he let his feet dangle into the water. The weeks alone made him quite a bit more paranoid, and he kept looking over his shoulders every now and then. He let his eyes rest on the sunset before speaking again. "Yeah, there were no Gillette's in the supply boxes...fucking government savages."
His hand rubbed over his face instinctively before letting his mind settle on something that had been bothering him for a long time. After going into hiding. He spotted something that made his blood run ice cold. Casey was with Damien. And as much as Montana didn't like it, he wasn't her father, and had no right to tell her what to do after his hide and go seek run. He didn't look at her in the eyes as he spoke, but he knew his words would strike a chord.
"I know about you and Damien..."

Casey flinched ever so slightly, hardly noticeably at all as he leaned closer and nudged her. He was different, it was weird, and Casey was far from capable of dealing with changes as easily as your average person. He was still Montana, still her gang leader, but he was different. Perhaps it was for the better, but maybe not. That was the problem with changing, you never knew how it would turn out. She bit her lip harder as he spoke. If he deserved a slap in the head for leaving for a month, she didn't even know what she deserved if she ever saw her brother again. She gave her head a shake, refocusing herself on Montana, he didn't even know she had a brother.
"I don't have a reason to hit you Montana. If running away is an excuse to hurt someone, I'd be dead," she said quietly, sighing silently, glad that he hadn't suddenly decided to bring up about how he knew something. She allowed her feet to swing under the dock as the thought crossed her mind, far too soon. As he spoke, she froze, her legs stopping in mid swing, bent underneath the dock. Of course, it was too late now to lie her way out of it, her reaction had given it away. She was curious as to how much he knew though. Did he know she was pregnant? Did he know how the kid had been conceived? Or did he just know she was with Damien.
"Ah, yeah, been meaning to tell you about that one," she replied, unable to shake the feeling of lameness that came with her response. "Anything else you discovered while sneaking around the island?" she asked, unconsciously tightening her arms around her abdomen.

"Yeah, I know where Aiden is."
Montana had been spying on Oryx's tribal grounds ever since he went into hiding. It had seemed as though Aiden was being kept a secret from the majority of the tribe. Which explained their prisoner's lack of knowledge about it. He had definitely heard baby cries, so the chances were that he was still alive. He stretched his arms upwardxs and lent back on his elbows. Still not looking Casey in the eyes, he spoke again.
"I'm not your father, but be fucking careful around Damien. I still dont trust him."

Casey's expression lit up ever so slightly at the mention of Aiden, though she couldn't quite bring herself to look over at Montana. She was afraid he'd see something in her eyes, something that would give him another hint that she was keeping something from him. Though, she'd have to tell him anyway. After all, it wouldn't be long before her abdomen began swelling. "If you were my father, I wouldn't be sitting here with you without heavy sedation or restraints," she replied, her gaze trained out on the ocean. It was a random comment, considering she'd never told Montana anything of her past.
She frowned ever so slightly as his warning echoed in her mind. She didn't blame him for not trusting Damien. "He'll behave, I've got something of his," she said, keeping her answer vague. If he wanted to ask about it, she'd tell, if not, he couldn't be angry when he finally did find out-- she'd given him the opportunity to know what was going on.

Montana's eyebrow furrowed. Something of his? Montana didn't dwell on it for very long, He didn't really care to be honest. If it was something that would ensure Damien's co-operation, he was fine with it. A sound from the forst made Montana turn his head. He saw numerous birds fly out of the trees. Mpontana vauguely wondered what startled them all, but decided it was unimportant. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a crab walking towards them. With lightning quick reflexes, he snapped the creature off ot thr ground and held it by it's claws. It got him a few times but it wasn't particularly painful.
"Hungry Case?"

Casey watched him curiously out of the corner of her eye, watching his eyebrows furrow before he was distracted by something in the forest. Shifting uneasily, she wasn't as easily convinced of it's unimportance as Montana was. Birds didn't startle for no reason. It could be some wild animal, but the natives liked to hide out in the trees, and the birds had been spooked out of their tree. Though, surely the natives would know better than to go inhabiting trees that were already inhabited by spook-able birds. Whatever.
As he picked up the crab, she smirked as it pinched him before he could hold it by the claws. Reaching up to pull it away from him, she held it on her flattened palm, watching as it tried determinedly to pinch the skin of her palm. "Not hungry for crabs, he's a cute little pinchy-pinch," she stated, releasing the crab on her other side, putting herself between Montana and his denied dinner. "So what, exactly, inspired you to abandon everything and disappear for ages?" she questioned him bluntly.
